Hyperhidrosis – Botox
What is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a medical problem involving excessive underarm sweating. This condition can be quite embarrassing to many men and women. Problems or abnormalities in the sympathetic nervous system cause the sweat glands to overproduce, resulting in hyperhidrosis. In some cases these glands can produce more than five times the amount of sweat needed to cool the body, occurring even in cool temperatures.
Botox™ Used to Treat Hyperhidrosis
Botox™ has become the household name for eliminating wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, and between the brows. Botox is one of the most popular non-surgical procedures for facial rejuvenation that Dr. Goodman uses at Goodman Dermatology in Roswell. Botox has now been given FDA approval for treating hyperhidrosis and Dr. Goodman is happy that he can help his patients who suffer from this medical condition by injecting them with Botox in this problem area. Many of his patients have been bothered with this problem for years and the condition can affect them both emotionally and physically. He feels that by treating them it can improve a patient’s well-being just as much as treating acne or other skin concerns.
